Player Focus: Kabongo Tshimanga

Kabongo Tshimanga is our player focus for this week. He is a forward for Chesterfield born in Kinshasha in the Democratic Republic of Congo. He has been having the season of his life in the National League with Chesterfield. He has scored 24 goals in 27 games so far this season and looks like he could have been leading Chesterfield back to the football league. Everything was going great and he was playing in Chesterfield's 1-1 draw with Weymouth and disaster struck. In the 87th minute he fractured his leg and dislocated his ankle. This is a major blow for Tshimanga and Chesterfield Football Club. He is due to undergo surgery today after suspected ligament damage. He is most likely to be out for the season unless it's not as bad as first thought.

Chesterfield FC have released a club statement on Tshimanga about his serious injury. Chesterfield have 5 upcoming home games against tough teams such as Solihull Moors, Wrexham, Yeovil Town, Notts County and Southend United all coming up at the Technique Stadium in the coming month. After that they have Boreham Wood away and Maidenhead Unite home. I see this as a make or break part of the season. He has been arguably the best player in the league this season and the question is will Chesterfield still go up?
