Dulwich Hamlet cruise past Welling - Welling United 1-3 Dulwich Hamlet

Dulwich Hamlet's play-off charge has been looking in doubt as of late, only winning 1 out of their last 5. These games contained poor losses against Billericay Town, Chelmsford and Hungerford Town. Welling haven't been too great lately either but are coming off the back of a big 1-0 win at home to Chippenham Town. Neither set of fans were particularly satisfied with their teams late performances but Dulwich Hamlet fans were especially unimpressed after losing 2-0 against bottom of the league Billericay Town.

The game started and Dulwich took the lead with a huge help from a deflection from a great shot by Quade Taylor who scored his first goal of the season. Charlie Grainger the Dulwich Hamlet goalkeeper was called into action once or twice but nothing more in the first half. Hamlet's lead was doubled when Chike Kandi hammered home due to poor defending from the home side. The two teams went in at half time with the score at 0-2. It only took 5 minutes for Hamlet to get a third and it was Quade Taylor who bagged a brace, this time from a corner and he tapped in from close range. Welling United pulled one back with a penalty which was converted by their top scorer Dipo Akinyemi. This goal proved to be a mere consolation goal.

This mean Dulwich Hamlet leapfrog Chippenham Town and Eastbourne Borough to go to 6th meaning their play-off charge is back on track. Welling United remain on the other end of the table in 19th only 3 points ahead of Braintree Town who have two games in hand.
